
Mallards Sign Goaltender Ben Gray

Moline, IL-The Quad Mallards announced today that the team has signed goaltender Ben Gray. The 6-foot-5, 225 pound netminder will join the team as they travel to Bloomington for a Thursday evening match-up with the Prairie Thunder.
Ben Gray joins the Mallards after attending ECHL camp with the Pensacola Ice Pilots. Gray played NCAA Division III hockey with Lebanon Valley in 2003-04. In seven collegiate games, he went 4-2-0 with a 2.14 goals against average and a .926 save percentage.
The Mallards also announced a pair of roster cuts on Wednesday. Goaltender Scott Gray and forward Tim Plett were waived. Gray played 49 minutes in two games as a Mallard. He recorded a 4.83 goals against average and an .879 save percentage. Plett appeared in one game as a Mallard and was held pointless while recording a minus one rating.
The Mallards make their first ever trip to Bloomington on Thursday. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Hayman's Ace Hardware Pre-Game Show is on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230 beginning at 6:50 p.m. On Saturday night, the Mallards journey to Port Huron to face the Flags. Opening Weekend at The MARK presented by Genesis is set for Friday, November 3rd vs. Fort Wayne and Saturday, November 4th vs. Rockford.
