Mallards Sign Dolgy

MOLINE, Ill. (April 14, 2010) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the Mallards have signed forward Jason Dolgy and that left wing Aaron Spotts has returned to the College of St. Scholastica to complete his senior year. In addition, the Mallards further announced that right wing Juris Stals has been invited to vie for a spot on the Latvian National Team that will compete in the IIHF Word Championship in Germany next month.

Dolgy, 25, joins the Mallards after spending the bulk of the season with the Chi-Town Shooters of the All American Hockey League. Dolgy, who ranked third in the AAHL in assists (39), sixth in points (64) and seventh in goals (25), also played six games in the IHL earlier this season with the Flint Generals. The Montreal native turned pro with the Shooters last season after completing a four-year career at Division III SUNY-Brockport. Dolgy totaled eight goals and 19 points in 66 career collegiate games.

Spotts scored one goal and picked up one assist in six games after joining the Mallards earlier this month. Spotts finished a college four-year career at Division III St. Scholastica in March.

Stals, 28, played for Latvia at both the 2006 and 2008 World Championships. So far this season he has scored 24 goals and totaled 50 points in 72 games with the Mallards. The 6' 3", 201-pound Stals leads the Mallards with 13 power play goals. * *Stals and the Mallards return to action this Friday evening for Fan Appreciation Night as the Flock plays its final regular season home game at 7:05 against the Fort Wayne Komets. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
