
Fort Wayne's Chaulk Named IHL Outstanding Defensive Forward

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Wednesday that Fort Wayne center Colin Chaulk has been named the 2009-10 IHL Outstanding Defensive Forward as selected by league head coaches, general managers and members of the media.
The 33-year-old Toronto, Ontario native has recorded 25 goals and 58 assists for a total of 83 points in 68 games played so far this season. He has registered a plus-34 rating, which ties him for the league lead in the plus/minus category. His 83 points leads the Komets in scoring, and rank him fourth overall in the IHL in scoring. Chaulk has tallied five goals and 23 assists on the Komets power play. His 23 man-advantage assists are second among IHL scorers.
The 6-0, 199 pound center has had 24 multi-point contests this season. Of those 24 games, he recorded four points on three different occasions. In each one of his four-point games, Chaulk recorded two goals and two assists.
This season has been Chaulk's most productive since re-joining the Komets in the 2007-08 season. This season is also the third highest scoring of his professional career, behind the 03-04 season where he scored 96 points and the 04-05 season where he registered 92 points, both seasons with the Komets.
Chaulk will be presented with the award on Saturday, April 17th.
