Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (October 7, 2012) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced the team will open its 2012 training camp Thursday and also that the club has signed defenseman Bryant Doerrsam.

The Mallards will hit the ice on Thursday to begin what will be their third camp as a member of the CHL. The Mallards' full training camp schedule and roster will be announced this week prior to the opening of camp.

Among the new faces wearing Mallards colors at camp will be the 22-year old rookie Doerrsam, who joins the Mallards after taking the ice for Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, the last two seasons.

"Bryant is a no-nonsense young defenseman who has good size and is dependable in his own zone," said Mallards coach and general manager Terry Ruskowski. "That sort of player can be an important part of any successful defense corps."

Last year, the 6' 2", 195-pound Doerrsam, skated in 21 games for Queen's. The Niagara Falls, Ontario, native joined the Gaels after two seasons in the Ontario Junior Hockey League, where he suited up for the Stouffville Spirit and Hamilton Red Wings.

2012-13 Mallards season tickets as well as the Mallards' new Partial Punch Plan are on sale now. The Mallards offer ticket packages to meet any budget, including youth season tickets now available for as little at $165. The Partial Punch Plan provides flexibility and affordability- each Punch Plan punch card can be redeemed for ten tickets- whether those tickets are for ten different games, all for the same game or anything in between- subject to availability. Partial Punch Plans can be had for as little as $70 for youth 12 and under. For more ticket package information, fans can call the Mallards at 309-277-1364.
