Mallards' New Year's Eve Game To Face Off At 6:05 P.M.

Moline, Ill. (December 16, 2009)-* The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the Mallards' game on New Year's Eve- Thursday, December 31- against the Muskegon Lumberjacks will start at the special time of 6:05 p.m. and, as the game will start just after midnight London time, the Mallards will also ring in the New Year in British style that evening.

"The special early New Year's Eve start time will give fans the chance to cheer on the Mallards that evening and also enjoy New Year's Eve celebrations after the game," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman. "However, we will be having a New Year's celebration of our own- and since the game will start at the same time 2010 begins in the British Isles we will endeavour to do the Queen proud with our celebrations."

The Mallards will count down to the start of the new year at 6:00 p.m. Central Time/12:00 a.m. British time and throughout the game the evening will carry the flavour of merry old England as the Flock puts on the Quad Cities' only British New Years' celebration. One element of the evening that will remain all-American is the giveaway of Mallards baseball caps to the first 1,000 fans through the doors on New Year's Eve.

The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.
