Mallards Merchandise Available Tomorrow; New Team Store, The Zone

MOLINE, Ill. (October 23, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that Mallards merchandise and apparel will be available beginning this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at The Zone, the Mallards' new store located off the i wireless Center lobby. Saturday will culminate in "Faceoff Rocks" featuring the Mallards' home opener against the Fort Wayne Komets and a pre-game concert outside the i wireless Center by Night Ranger.

Destroyer Merchandising Company has teamed with the Mallards to provide the team's new line of merchandise and operate The Zone.

"Destroyer Merchandising has provided a wide range of official Mallards merchandise and apparel - there should be something for just about every Mallards fan at The Zone," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman. "We know many of our fans have been waiting anxiously to have the chance to show their support for the Mallards by wearing team apparel and we are gratified that we are now able to offer high quality merchandise and affordable prices."

The Zone will carry a wide array of apparel, headwear and other fan favorites for all ages. Not least among the items on offer are three different styles- white home, green road and black third- of Mallards replica jerseys in both adult and youth sizes. Jerseys can be fully customized with names and numbers. Other products available starting tomorrow include Mallards hoodies, t-shirts, baseball caps, horns, cow bells, stuffed animals and much more.

"Everyone at Team Destroyer has eagerly embraced the challenge of giving Mallards fans a team shop they can be proud of and is committed to offering fans a wide variety of quality products at prices they can afford," said Team Destroyer Chief Operating Officer Adam Howard. "Our store manager, Mario Morath, will be available at The Zone during store hours to meet and talk to fans and to get their feedback on merchandise."

The Zone will be open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and- on game days- from 10:00 a.m. until one hour after the game ends or until the last fan leaves the arena.

The Zone will continue to introduce new products and extend its offerings throughout the season and will also work closely with the Mallards on special offers to groups, season ticket holders and more throughout the season. In addition The Zone will typically discount an "item of the night" for each game.

"Faceoff Rocks" will be followed on Friday, October 30, by a home battle with Flint, an evening that will also feature the World's Largest Indoor Trick-or-Treat and, for the first 1,000 fans through the doors, the Genesis Official Game Puck Giveaway.

Mallards tickets are available at the i wireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.

"Faceoff Rocks" kicks off a 38-game home schedule loaded with special events, unique promotions and giveaways. The Mallards and the i wireless Center have also teamed up for "Faceoff Rocks" festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. on October 24; admission to all events -- including the Night Ranger concert -- is free with a ticket to the Mallards' game. The first 2,500 fans to arrive for "Faceoff Rocks" will receive a free Mallards opening night t-shirt. The Mallards will also give away free team magnet schedules and Mallards Thunderstixx. Fans taking in the Night Ranger concert will also have the chance to enjoy an outdoor beer garden and giant screen plasma television outside the i wireless Center. The fun will not stop there. "Faceoff Rocks" will also feature a Hockey Hall of Fame Fan Fest including the Hall's largest collection of Legends of Hockey travelling exhibits and memorabilia and interactive games.
