
Mallards, Kaufmann Stop Flint

Moline, Ill. (December 13, 2009) - Jerad Kaufmann made 33 saves in his Mallards debut and Obi Aduba and Justin White provided the Quad City goals as the host Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, defeated the Flint Generals 2-1 Sunday to move into a tie with Flint for sixth place in the IHL standings.
Aduba and White scored two minutes and twenty-six seconds apart in the second period to stake the Mallards to a 2-0 lead. Aduba's superb solo rush opened the scoring at 8:42 of the second. The Mallards were on the power play when White pounced on a loose puck to double the lead at the 11:08 mark.
Kaufmann, who was sharp throughout the contest, was at his best in the third period, stopping 17 shots in the final 20 minutes alone and keeping Flint off the scoreboard until Steve Silver's long range shorthanded goal made it 2-1 with 7:01 remaining.
The Malllards play back-to-back road games- Wednesday in Bloomington and Friday in Fort Wayne before returning home Saturday night, December 19, to take on Fort Wayne at 7:00 p.m. The first 500 fans ages 12-and-under through the doors for that game receive free webkinz plush collectibles.
