Quad City Mallards News Release

Moline, IL - Jerad Kaufmann was superb in stopping all 42 shots he faced and Chris Lipsett scored the only goal as the host Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, Saturday night extended their winning streak to three straight games and their regulation unbeaten streak to five (4-0-0-1) by shutting out the Bloomington PrairieThunder 1-0.

The Mallards got the only goal they would need when Lipsett swept Patrick Levesque's centering pass home at 7:25 of the first period.

Kaufmann put on a sterling show in goal the rest of the evening on the way to his first career shutout. The rookie netminder was at his busiest in the second period, stopping 16 Bloomington shots in the middle frame alone. In a show of great determination, the Mallards even killed off a full two minute 5-on-3 Bloomington advantage early in the second.

The Mallards return to action on home ice next Friday night, January 8, at 7:05 p.m. against the Port Huron Icehawks. The first 1,000 fans through the doors for that game will receive free official Mallards' rubber ducks.

Tickets for Saturday night's game and all remaining regular season Mallards home games are available at the i wireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000.
