Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (March 28, 2012) - The Quad City Mallards of the Central Hockey League have extended their early bird season ticket discount deadline to April 13 in recognition of the Mallards' number 13, Brandon Marino- who earlier this week was named the CHL's Most Valuable Player- the Mallards announced today.
Fans who pay for 2012-13 Mallards season tickets in full by April 13 will receive a 15 percent discount, an offer that was originally set to expire Friday. The Mallards offer season ticket packages to meet any budget. Season ticket packages are available for as little as $5 per game for youth seats. Youth season ticket prices have been reduced in three different seating categories for 2012-13.
"Brandon's remarkable achievement in becoming the first Mallard ever to be named a league Most Valuable Player provided us with the perfect opportunity to extend the availability of this discount," said Mallards executive vice president Ryan Simmons. "This offer will continue until the thirteenth of April as a salute to our number 13."
Mallards season ticket holders receive a host of exclusive benefits including significant savings off box office ticket prices, the same great seats for all home games, the ability to purchase additional discounted tickets, the first right to playoff tickets and the chance to trade in unused tickets for other games during the season.
Marino, 25, was named MVP on Monday after enjoying a breakout season during which he led the league with 41 goals and finished second with 90 points. Marino is the first Mallard since Luke Stauffacher (42) in 2006-07 to top 40 goals in a season and the first since Mike Kompon (90) in 2004-05 to reach the 90-point plateau. The 5' 9", 185-pound Riverside, California native also led the league in power play goals (13), ranked fourth in assists (49) and finished tied for fourth in shorthanded goals (3) and game winning goals (7) while also posting a plus/minus rating of +9. Marino was named to the All-CHL Team earlier this month.
Season tickets are available in eight different categories for both adults and youth. For more season ticket information, fans can call the Mallards at 309-277-1364.
