Bloomington Blaze News Release
The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, are already setting the stage for an event-filled second season as the curtain falls on the inaugural campaign.
"Our final weekend series demonstrated just the beginnings of the atmosphere we plan to create around the Blaze," said Blaze President and General Manager David Holt. "We are genuinely excited about making Blaze hockey the place to be during the fall and winter. By continuing to improve the team on the ice and presenting our contests in an entertaining and highly professional manner, we plan to provide Bloomington-Normal with a major league experience every night."
The Blaze have improved their season ticket program by lowering prices for most seats and offering new benefits and incentives. "We truly appreciate our loyal fans who are partnering with us, and we want them to join us in spreading the word that the Blaze are only getting bigger and better." The Blaze have already secured several home dates from the Central Hockey League for the 2012-2013 season. Remaining dates at U.S. Cellular Coliseum and the entire CHL schedule will be announced this summer. Current season ticket renewals are underway and new season tickets can be secured after April 1.
On the ice, the Blaze expect to have a new coach in place in June. "We plan to hire a coach with a track record of success," said Holt. "We're looking for someone who believes in a tough, physical style of hockey, who will put together a team that won't back down from anyone and will take the game to the opponent."
The Blaze office remains open during the spring and summer months, and welcomes any questions and comments. "I'm happy to hear from anyone who would like to partner with us, either as a season ticket holder or as a business that would like to get their word out to thousands of people. Don't hesitate to call us with questions or ideas."
