Mallards Announce 2009-10 Regular Season Schedule

MOLINE, IL (July 29, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards announced on

Wednesday the club's regular season schedule for their inaugural

2009-10 International Hockey League (IHL) campaign. The Mallards

schedule, commencing with an away game on Saturday, October 17 against

the Flint Generals and concluding with a home-and-home series with the

two-time defending IHL Champion Fort Wayne Komets on Friday and

Saturday, April 16-17, 2010, is comprised of 76 games, including 38

home games at i wireless Center and 38 away games versus all six IHL

opponents.

"We are excited to see our inaugural season begin to take shape with

the release of the 2009-10 schedule," stated Ryan Simmons, vice

president of ticketing and business development for the Mallards. "We

have worked diligently with Scott Mullen and his staff at i wireless

Center to build an innovative and exciting entertainment schedule for

the loyal hockey fans in the Quad Cities. The Mallards' ownership

group of Chris Lencheski and Eric Galler are committed to, not only

presenting the most exciting team in professional hockey, but also

providing the most entertaining and affordable fan experience in

professional hockey."

The fan-friendly, family-oriented slate consists of 31 of the 38 home

game dates which are played on weekends or surrounding holidays. Ten

of the 38 home games take place on Sunday's with face-offs set for

4:05 p.m. and a family "skate-around" following each Sunday game

sponsored by a local media partner. With the exception of the New

Year's Eve game, the puck will be dropped for all other home games at

7:05 p.m. The New Year's Eve start time has yet to be determined.

The Mallards home opener is slated for Saturday, October 24 versus the

Komets, the culmination of "Hocktoberfest," a festival of all things

hockey in the Quad Cities. In addition to opening night and New

Year's Eve, other planned promotional nights include the Halloween-

themed contest versus the Flint Generals on Friday, October 30, the

return of hockey the night before Thanksgiving Day against the Port

Huron IceHawks, the "Tough Love" contest versus the Komets on the

night prior to Valentine's Day, and the St. Hat-Trick's Day matchup

with the Generals on March 17. A full promotional schedule is being

developed as conversations are on-going with local corporate partners

for a bobblehead night, a mini-stick night, and many other traditional

fan favorite promotions. The details of the full promotional night

schedule will be announced shortly.

prior to walk up general public admissions and are treated to Mallards

locker room and hockey operations access up to 30 minutes before the

game to hear coach's comments and live the behind-the-scenes
