Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 16)- In their last regular season game the Texas Brahmas were able to prevent some last minute antics by the Oklahoma City Blazers Sunday evening on "Fan Appreciation Night", winning 3-2.

Grant Jacobsen got things started for Texas when he scored a powerplay goal on goaltender Sean Connors six minutes remaining in the first. Forward Jordan Cameron extended his scoring streak to 11 games with his 30th goal of the season at the 17:25 mark to put Texas up 2-0 going into the first intermission.

The Blazers came out firing in the second on Brahmas netminder Brett Jaeger shooting 16 shots his way. Before the Blazers could solve the riddle that was Jaeger, Brahmas All-Star defenseman Justin Kinnunen scored a shorthanded goal, his second shortie this season. Oklahoma City was finally able to find a hole as defenseman Dallas Flaman came out with his second goal of the season with two minutes remaining in the period.

Oklahoma City was able to score once more in the third period, this time from Micheal Kaye but it was not enough as Texas went on to win their fifth consecutive game. The Brahmas will now travel to Wichita for a Wednesday night match against the Thunder. The Brahmas need only one more victory (2 points) to clinch a playoff position.
