Majors Settle For A Tie

Milton, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors were at Milton Sports Centre this evening to host a rematch with the Owen Sound Attack in exhibition, and battled to a 1-1 deadlock.

The visitors went ahead 1-0 in the 1st period with a goal coming from Curtis Crombeen off of passes from Steven Shipley and Joshua Ocampo.

While the Majors came close in the 2nd period with some quality scoring chances, the game remained at 1-0, as Owen Sound held onto the lead.

Mississauga tied things up in the 3rd period when Ryan Lopes connected off of feeds from Riley Brace and David Corrente to conclude the game.

Chris Carrozzi got the start in net for the Majors and blocked 18 shots. Jordan Binnington and Scott Stajcer combined for 35 saves for the Attack.

Majors host the Peterborough Petes this Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Joshua's Creek Arenas in Oakville, Ontario. The venue is located at 1663 North Service Road East. Individual tickets can be purchased at the door for only $5.00 each.

Mississauga's regular season begins with a visit to the home of the Brampton Battalion on Friday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m. Home opener will take place on Friday, October 2 with a tilt against the Battalion at 7:30 p.m. A complete list of the Majors 2009-10 regular season schedule is available at the Majors website (www.stmichaelsmajors.com).
