
Majors Partner With Toronto Scottish Regiment And Don Cherry For Remembrance Day Game

Mississauga, ON- The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors will be hosting the second annual "School Day Game" on Wednesday November 11th beginning at 11:00 am.
The game will be highlighted by a traditional Remembrance Day ceremony performed by members of the Toronto Scottish Regiment and host of CBC's "Coaches Corner" Don Cherry, prior to the start of the game. An expected 3,500 school children from Mississauga will be in attendance. The Majors have partnered with the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board to provide the students with two important aspects of the Canadian culture, remembrance and hockey.
The Majors will be hosting the Kitchener Rangers with the game slated to begin shortly after the opening ceremony. Each team will be wearing a special Remembrance Day jersey. The jerseys will go up for auction on the Majors website following the game, with all proceeds going to the Dominion of Canada Poppy Trust Fund.
Fans can get a special preview of the jersey on the Majors website (www.stmichaelsmajors.com ) a week before the game.
Each student in attendance will be receiving an in-game quiz highlighting the history of the regiment, including Mississauga's role in World War I; up to and including the regiment's current duties in Afghanistan. Captain Jean-Frederic Breton of the Toronto Scottish Regiment, will be addressing the crowd during the ceremony.
