Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors have traded forward Gregg Sutch to the Barrie Colts in exchange for a third round selection in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection and another conditional draft pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.

Sutch, 19, came to the Majors in a trade with the Sarnia Sting prior to the 2009-10 season that saw the Majors send forwards Kyle Neuber and Kale Kerbashian to the Sting in exchange for Sutch, who had just completed his rookie season in the Ontario Hockey League. The Majors also acquired several draft picks in that deal.

In two seasons with Mississauga, the 6'2", 210 lb, right winger appeared in 96 regular season games. In an injury plagued 2009-10 season, Sutch scored three goals and added five assists for eight points. He posted another five points in 16 playoff games that year for the Majors, helping the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals. During the 2010-11 season, Sutch had a career year, collecting eight goals and 20 assists for 28 points. He was also a plus 20 last season with 79 penalty minutes, this time helping the team claim the Eastern Conference Championship.

Sutch was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Majors 2011 Training Camp gets underway the last week of August as new and returning Majors will be at the Hershey Centre, competing for a spot on this year's team. The Majors will start their exhibition schedule on the road on Labour Day Weekend, before dropping the puck on their home exhibition schedule with a game against the Guelph Storm on Thursday, September 8 at 7:30 PM. The game will be played at Iceland Arena and tickets will be available at the door for $5.00.
