David Bowman got the home squad on the board less than five minutes into the game when he struck on the power-play. Assists were credited to Craig Kennedy and Robert Hennigar. The Majors responded on the man-advantage at 13:40 when Evgeny Kadatskiy tallied off a feed from Ryan Rorabeck.
