Majors Announce Launch of New Reebok Edge Uniforms

Mississauga, ON The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors, in association with the Canadian Hockey League and Reebok Hockey, are pleased to announce the official launch of the new Reebok EDGE Uniform System.

The Majors hockey club is one of the 60 CHL teams that were introduced to new home and away EDGE jersey designs to be utilized in the upcoming 2009-10 hockey season.

The Majors made a special public appearance this morning at Fallingbrook Middle School in Mississauga, Ontario where defencemen Blake Parlett and David Corrente modeled the new Majors jersey designs for the first time. Over 700 ecstatic students and staff members participated in the launch during the school's morning assembly, along with the support of the Majors official broadcaster, Rogers TV (Peel), Cable 10.

Fallingbrook Middle School is just one of the many local schools that annually participate in the Majors school community programs such as the National Anthem program, Pre- and Post-Game skates and Field Trip with the Majors (new for 2009-10).

We are very excited about the look of our new uniforms, said Vice-President, Marketing and Sales for the Majors, Rick Radovski. We wanted a jersey design that paid homage to our great alumni, and the tremendous tradition of the St. Michael's Majors but with an added element of excitement for our fans. We are thrilled with how they turned out."

The CHL is very excited to launch the new Reebok EDGE Uniform System in all of our markets today, said CHL President David Branch. This major undertaking was made possible through the commitment of Reebok who has been a tremendous league partner, and with the hard work of all 60 clubs across the country that helped create each design that will not only enhance the player experience but excite fans across the entire CHL.

Fans can view all 120 brand new Reebok EDGE jersey designs by visiting www.chl.ca and they are all available for purchase online at www.chlshop.ca.

The Majors are providing a special introductory offer beginning today where Majors season ticket holders can purchase the new jersey for 25% off, and individual fans can purchase for 15% off the regular price. The Canadian Hockey League is the world's largest development hockey league with 60 teams in nine Canadian provinces and five American states. The CHL is made up of the Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League.

The Majors final exhibition game will take place in Peterborough when they face off against the Petes this Thursday evening at 7 p.m.

Mississauga's regular season begins with a visit to the home of the Brampton Battalion on Friday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m. Home opener will take place on Friday, October 2 with a tilt against the Battalion at 7:30 p.m. A complete list of the Majors 2009-10 regular season schedule is available at the Majors website (www.stmichaelsmajors.com).
