Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee Issues Fine

NEW YORK (September 20, 2007) - The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today fined New England Revolution head coach Steve Nicol $1,000 for public criticism of MLS officiating.

Following the Revolution's game versus D.C. United on Sept. 9, Nicol made public comments of a critical nature towards the game officials and has been fined $1,000. Nicol was dismissed from the bench during the game on Sept. 9, which New England lost 4-2. The $1,000 fine is in addition to the mandatory $500 fine and a one-game suspension for being dismissed, which he served on Saturday, Sept. 15 when the Revolution faced FC Dallas.
