
Major League Soccer Coming to Falconi Field

Washington, PA â The Riverhounds FC made several announcements Wednesday. Major League Soccer will be at Falconi Field August 10th at 7:05 p.m., when the Columbus Crew visits the Washington stadium for an exhibition match against the Riverhounds, FC. "Since we began this project, we've wanted to bring Major League Soccer to our stadium; we think showcasing Major League Soccer will help grow soccer by stimulating interest," said John Swiatek, president and managing partner. "We think our fans deserve to see a Major League game up close and personal, and Falconi Field offers the perfect venue for that."
In the Doghouse
In related news, the Riverhounds host Charlotte to a match at Falconi Field this Saturday (June 4) when the first kick off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Ticket sales manager, Kevin Kropf has been challenged to stay at Falconi Field, and sleep in the Riverhounds' mascot AMO's doghouse until the match is sold out. Riverhounds' officials are pleading with soccer fans to purchase a ticket to get Kevin out of the dog house!
Spirit Reunion
Riverhounds officials also announced it will host the Pittsburgh Spirit alumni to a match, following the Riverhounds match against Cincinnati on June 18th. "We're trying to get as many former players and office folks to come to Falconi Field for this event," said Paul Child, former Spirit player. "Some of the guys who can't make it have voiced their disappointment because it should be a lot of fun to participate in a match and to see each other again."
Match Rescheduled
According to officials the Riverhounds match against Northern Virginia, which was rained out on ay 14th has been rescheduled for August 9th at Falconi Field.
