Published on May 27, 2008 under Major League Lacrosse (MLL) News Release

Boston, MA (May 27, 2008) - Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, will hold the 2008 Warrior Major League Challenge and Collegiate Draft on Wednesday, May 28 at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken , New Jersey.

The Warrior Major League Challenge, an all-star game featuring invited college seniors and played under MLL Rules, will begin at 5:00 PM and take place at the De Baun Athletic Complex.

Following the game, the 2008 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft will begin promptly at 8:30 PM in the Bissinger Room, located on the fourth floor of the Wesley J. Howe Center. The draft will once again be broadcast live on ESPNU. The draft consists of 5 rounds, for a total of 50 selections.

The nation's top college lacrosse programs will be represented, and players from the four schools that competed in the NCAA Championships at Gillette Stadium this past weekend (Syracuse, Johns Hopkins, Virginia, and Duke), are expected to be in attendance.

The 2008 senior class is regarded as one of the strongest classes in recent memory and a great deal of debate has centered around whether it will be midfielder Paul Rabil of Johns Hopkins or attackman Matt Danowski of Duke taken with the first overall pick. The #1 overall pick in the 2008 draft belongs to the Chicago Machine (1-1). However, in even years, the team holding the first pick has always traded it prior to the draft.

Both events are open to the public.
