Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release

Lewiston, ME - The Lewiston MAINEiacs continue their stellar play of late at home as they hold on to a 3-1 win in front of 2.301 rowdy Colisée fans. Lewiston had a great start to the game - out-shooting Quebec 17-7 in the first - although unable to convert and score remained deadlocked at 0 after 20 minutes.

It was Mathieu Aubin scoring his 25th of the season that gave the MAINEiacs the 1-0 lead in the second. Only a few minutes later - Marc-Andre Cliche recorded his 19th of the year to widen the margin 2-0 and that is how it would remain after the second period.

Quebec fought back in the third period and finally got on the board late in the game with the empty net (Kenzie Sheppard) to bring the contest to within one. But Lewiston would reply with Aubin's second of the game from Bailey and Chaput to restore the 2-goal lead. In the dying minutes a scramble in front of the Lewiston goal would see the net dislodged and the Remparts awarded a penalty shot. Bernier was up to the task, stopping Michal Serson and the MAINEiacs would hold on the 3-1 victory.
