MAINEiacs Defeat Drakkar, 1-0

Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release


Lewiston, ME - With one goal the MAINEiacs jumped two spots in the QMJHL standings to be in playoff contention for the 2008-2009 season. The Lewiston MAINEiacs shut out the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 1-0 at the Centre Henry-Leonard in Baie-Comeau Drakkar. The MAINEiacs now are in 15th place in the QMJHL.

Matt Bourdeau scored his foruth goal of the year, and only goal of the night, in the second period. Goaltender Adrien Lemay earned a well deserved win with a 43 save performance.

Lemay's win was his third of the year. Baie-Comeau's Nathan Dunnet took the loss for the home team and saw 23 Lewiston shots on the night. The three stars of the game were 1) Adrien Lemay (LEW), 2) Nathan Dunnett (BAC), 3) Eric Gelinas (LEW).

The MAINEiacs will hop on the bus tomorrow to wrap up their two week swing through Quebec with a stop in Shawinigan on Friday.
