ODESSA, TX. Despite finishing with what will be the best record in the National Indoor Football League, and the second best in the leagues history, the Odessa Roughnecks magical run for the Indoor Bowl was cut short on Saturday. With a great team effort and even a standing ovation from the disappointed, near-capacity crowd in the Rough House, Odessa headed off the field with a 41-39 loss to the visiting Tri-Cities Fever.

"It will be the incredible bond and the undefeated regular season that I hope each of my coaches, players, and our fan base will remember.", stated head coach Chris Williams, "In the mean time, we are getting prepared for both the All-Star game and the 2006 season." Discussions have already begun in efforts to build a championship quality team for the upcoming season.

The 2005 Odessa Roughnecks will have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents one final time as they host the NIFL All-Stars in a game next weekend. The two day gala will feature a game with questionably the best team in the league playing against the best players from other teams around the league on Saturday night, July 6th. Not only will the Permian Basin take in this event, but also scouts from around the Arena Football League and even the National Football League as they look for tomorrow's stars right here in Odessa.

"It is with the sentiments of my entire staff of coaches, managers, and players that I thank the community for their amazing support this season. To once again finish amongst the top in our league in attendance and to be able to call our tickets the hottest in the Basin...we are very grateful. You have our pledge to do everything possible to make next season an even greater success on and off the field.", explained team president Tommy Benizio.

Tickets for both the Friday night Skills Competition/Banquet and Saturday's All-Star Classic Game are available by calling (432) 332-PASS (7277), 1-800-585-3737, by visiting any area Albertson's stores, or by logging onto the team's website at www.RoughnecksNIFL.com.
