Moncton Magic News Release

Get out the broom and dust pan, it's a sweep. The Moncton Magic win three consecutive games in a best of five Atlantic Division Semi-Final against the Saint John Riptide. Moncton was given a scare at Harbour Station last evening due to staller performances by Saint John's starters Bartley, Maston, Harris and Mordi, who combined for 84 points. However, Moncton rallied through the fourth quarter and overtime to turn the tide and defeat the Riptide, 107-104 in OT.

Billy White came out firing in this one, scoring Moncton's first 8 points to begin the game. White finished with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Corey Allmond has recently improved upon his passing and has been playing very unselfish basketball, averaging 8.6 assists during the series. The combo guard finished with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists. Watch your head, Marcus Lewis is not shy about imposing himself on the rim. Lewis contributed with a solid 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Here I find myself talking about Trey Kell once again. Just a kid from San Diego... making a professional name for himself in Canada. Kell has been spoiling Moncton fans with fantastic performances since he arrived with the Magic. The Player of the Game led the way with a team high 31 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals.

For the Saint John Riptide Frank Bartley was making tough contested shots all evening long, finishing with a game high 32 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists. TJ Maston had 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Jon Harris finished with a near triple-double of 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Jeremiah Mordi added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. While Kemy Osse contributed 11 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals off the Riptide bench.

Your Moncton Magic are onto the Atlantic Conference Finals! Moncton will take the hard wood again at the Avenair Centre next Thursday, April 18that 7pm where they will be playing the winner of the Halifax Hurricanes vs Cape Breton Highlanders first round series.
