Macon's Deeves named Player of the Week
February 23, 2005 - SPHL (SPHL) News Release
The Southern Professional Hockey League â Sherwood Hockey "Player of the Week" award goes to David Deeves of the Macon Trax.
Deeves from Barrie, Ontario broke a 2 â 2 deadlock with a pair of third period goals as the Macon Trax won a hard fought road contest against the Fayetteville FireAntz.
Two wins over the past week (including Tuesday's 4 â 1 victory in Columbus) have vaulted the Trax into a tie for fourth place with their arch-rival, the Columbus Cottonmouths. Along with Jacksonville's 1 â 0 victory on Tuesday over Fayetteville, the playoff race in the SPHL has never been closer!
