Lynx Sign Scott Thauwald
August 19, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
AUGUSTA, Ga.−The Augusta Lynx have signed winger Scott Thauwald, head coach and director of hockey operations John Marks announced today.
"Scott's a power forward with very good hockey sense. Numbers in college don't always reflect what a guy can do in the pros, and I think Scott will be a better pro than he was as a college athlete," Marks said. "He's very excited about coming to Augusta, and to play in front of a great city with great fans. That's what I want on my hockey team."
Thauwald (pronounced THAW-wald), 23, joins the Lynx after having tallied 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) and 22 penalty minutes in 39 games with Colorado College of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association last season. The 6-foot, 190-pound native of Rochester, Minn., had 48 points (26 goals, 22 assists) and 56 penalty minutes in 135 career games with the Tigers from 2003-04 through 2007-08.
The Augusta Lynx will begin their 11th season of play when they host the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Friday, Oct. 17th at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets, group tickets, small business packages and fundraisers are all available by calling 706.724.4423 or by logging on to augustalynx.com.
