Lynx Sign Marchant For 2004-05 Season
July 11, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
One of only two players to ever score a hat trick in his Lynx debut, Terry Marchant has agreed to terms with the Augusta Lynx for the 2004-05 Season, the team announced Tuesday.
The Buffalo, NY native was acquired in a trade with the Cincinnati Cyclones last season and made an immediate impact in his first game in Augusta, hanging three goals on the Roanoke Express February 6th, a 4-1 Lynx win. He would finish the campaign with 14 goals and 30 points in 28 games with the Lynx, and a total of 30 goals and 67 points in 73 games.
"He scored some big goals for us last season," said Stan Drulia, Lynx Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "Terry is the kind of player who can really provide an offensive spark, and we hope he'll pick right back up where he left off in Augusta."
Originally selected by the Edmonton Oilers in round 6, #136 overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-1, 205 lb. forward played four years at Lake Superior State University before turning pro. Marchant, 28, played in both the American Hockey League and now-defunct International Hockey League before heading to England for a spell in 2000-01. Since then, he has been an ECHL mainstay, notching almost a point per game at this level.
Marchant joins Jason Saal, Louis Goulet, Todd Bennett, Jarrett Thompson, Treavor Peterson, and Josh St. Louis as players inked to the Lynx for the 2004-05 Season. Full and partial season tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office by calling (706) 724-4423, or stopping by the office at 712 Telfair St. in downtown Augusta. Fans may also purchase season tickets on the team's web site at www.augustalynx.com. Full season seats start as low as $340 each! Get yours today. Welcome to THE YEAR OF THE FAN.
