
Lumberjacks Trade Connor Hurley to Green Bay for Christian Wolanin

MUSKEGON, Michigan (December 20th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced a trade in which the organization has sent Forward Connor Hurley to the Green Bay Gamblers along with a Phase One fourth-round draft pick in exchange for Defenseman Christian Wolanin, affiliate Defenseman Joseph Cecconi, a Phase Two first round draft pick, and a Phase One third-round draft pick.
Wolanin, the Rochester, Michigan native, is in his second season in the USHL and has spent all of it with the Gamblers totaling 14 points (2 goals and 12 assists) in 81 games played. The blue liner was drafted by Green Bay in the second round (30th overall) during the 2012 USHL Entry Draft.
Before coming to the USHL, Wolanin spent two seasons with the Little Caesars hockey program based out of Detroit, Michigan from 2010-12 recording 43 points (17 goals and 26 assists) in 63 games played.
In addition, the Lumberjacks also obtain affiliate Defenseman Joseph Cecconi in the trade, and he is currently in his second season with the Buffalo Junior Sabres Minor Midget (Under-16) Team. In his two seasons with the program thus far, Cecconi has accumulated 50 points (15 goals and 35 assists) in 98 games played.
Cecconi was drafted by the Gamblers in the fifth-round (70th overall) during the 2013 USHL Entry Draft.
Hurley, the Eagan, Minnesota native, is in his first full season in the USHL after playing in 13 games with the Lumberjacks last season totaling 9 points (1 goal and 8 assists). In 21 games played this season with Muskegon, Hurley has added 14 points (3 goals and 11 assists) and was drafted by the Lumberjacks with the third overall pick during the 2012 USHL Entry Draft.
Additionally, Hurley was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the second-round (38th overall) during the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and is committed to the University of Notre Dame out of the Hockey East Association following his junior career.
Following the league-wide two-week holiday break, the Lumberjacks will return home for the team's only Sunday home game of the season on December 29th against the Youngstown Phantoms at 5:15 pm that will feature Car Load Night. Fans can pile any number of people into one car for the low price of $40 that will include a ticket to the game along with a complimentary parking pass.
Individual game tickets will be on sale all next week for the December 29th home game for the low price of $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 3-12 if they are purchased before the day of the game. Tickets can be purchased at the Lumberjacks' Box Office or by calling (231) 724-5225.
