
Lumberjacks Ranked in NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings

MUSKEGON, Mich. - National Hockey League Central Scouting has released its final rankings for the upcoming 2022 NHL Draft. In all, three current Muskegon Lumberjacks defensemen - Jacob Guevin (No. 173), Tyler Dunbar (No. 175), and Jeremiah Slavin (No. 219) - three affiliates and one draft pick made the list.
JACOB GUEVIN - No. 173
Guevin, the 5-foot-11, 181-pound defenseman has appeared in 59 games with the Lumberjacks this season, totaling six goals and 51 assists for 57 points. Guevin recently broke the USHL Tier I single-season mark for assists by a defenseman with 51 helpers. In addition, the Jacks blueliner became the ninth player in franchise history, the 10th defenseman in USHL history to put up 100 career points, and the third Lumberjack to hit triple digits this season, alongside teammates Quinn Hutson and Jack Williams. The Drummondville, Quebec native has had a season for the record books, in which he surpassed Colby Bukes to score the most points by a defenseman in team history and has scored more assists than any player in franchise history, overtaking Daniil Gushchin for the record.
TYLER DUNBAR - No. 175
Dunbar, the 6-foot-0, 185-pound defenseman has appeared in 61 games with the Lumberjacks this year, scoring four goals and 21 assists for 25 points. The University of North Dakota commit eclipsed the 100 career USHL game mark earlier this season, adding him to the long list of Muskegon players to hit triple digits in games played.
JEREMIAH SLAVIN - No. 194
Slavin, the 6-foot-2, 198-pound defenseman completed his rookie season in the USHL by appearing in 42 games with the Lumberjacks, putting up two assists. Known as a quality defender in his own zone, the Colorado College commit posted a +9 rating. Coming from a deep hockey family, the Erie, CO native has two brothers currently playing professional hockey: Jaccob (Carolina Hurricanes, NHL) and Josiah (Rockford IceHogs, AHL).
GEORGE FEGARAS - No. 82 (affiliate)
Fegaras, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound defenseman skated in 52 games with the North York Rangers in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), putting up 13 goals and 35 assists for 48 points from the blueline. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native is committed to playing NCAA hockey at Cornell University.
MICHAEL CALLOW - No. 131 (affiliate)
Callow, the 6-foot-4, 194-pound right-winger played in 25 games with St. Sebastian's School this year, scoring 26 goals and 15 assists for 41 points. The South Boston, Mass. native is committed to playing NCAA hockey at Harvard University.
MATTHEW MORDEN - No. 190 (affiliate)
Morden, the 6-foot-4, 203-pound defenseman skated in 41 games with St. Andrew's College, amassing eight goals and 27 assists for 35 points. The Burlington, Ontario native also played in two games with the Lumberjacks this season while also representing his home country by playing with Team Canada for the U18 World Championship earlier this year. Morden is committed to playing NCAA hockey at Harvard University.
JACKSON KYRKOSTAS - No. 203 (draft pick)
Kyrkostas, the 5-foot-10, 165-pound center has split his time with the Islanders Hockey Club and Kimball Union Academy. With the Islanders Hockey Club, the Windham, N.H. native scored six goals and 17 assists for 23 points in 20 games, while he put up an additional 41 points with Kimball Union Academy, off of 10 goals and 31 assists in 28 games. The Lumberjacks drafted Kyrkostas in the ninth round, no. 133 overall in the 2022 Phase II USHL Draft. Kyrkostas is committed to playing NCAA hockey at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The 2022 NHL Draft is scheduled from July 7-8, 2022, and will be hosted by the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
Eastern Conference Final
The #3 Muskegon Lumberjacks have punched their ticket to the 2022 Eastern Conference Final, where they will face off with the #5 Madison Capitols in a best-of-five, third-round playoff series. Games 1 and 2 are scheduled at Mercy Health Arena in Muskegon on Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7, respectively, with puck drop at 7:00 pm EDT. The Lumberjacks will go on the road for at least one game in the Conference Final, with Game 3 slated for Monday, May 9 at 7:00 pm in Madison. Game 4 (if necessary) will also take place in Madison on Tuesday, May 10 with a decisive Game 5 (if necessary) on Thursday, May 12 in Muskegon. The Eastern Conference Finals will be a best-of-five format, meaning a team needs to win three games in the series to advance to the Clark Cup Final. Camp Dates Announced
The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced their 2022 Camp Dates for the upcoming season. Registration is now open for the Prospect 07-08 Camp, which runs from May 27-29, 2022 at Mercy Health Arena in downtown Muskegon. Goalie camp is scheduled for June 4-5, 2022, at the Lakeshore Sports Centre.
