Lumberjacks Players Help Team East to Top Prospects Victory

Omaha, NE - Zach Berzolla, Derek Daschke, Mitch Eliot, Bo Hanson, and Rem Pitlick helped propel Team East to a 6-2 victory over Team West in the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game yesterday evening.

The fourth annual USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game featured 40 of the USHL's top draft-eligible players, and took place at Ralston Arena, home of the Omaha Lancers. Team East leads the series, three wins to one. Since the games debut back in 2012, 46 players named to the top-prospects roster, have gone on to be selected in the NHL Entry Draft.

Over 100 scouts as well as representatives from all 30 NHL teams were in attendance for the game last night.

Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Ross Colton was named the Team East MVP, after recording the first hat-trick in the Top Prospects Game history.

Daschke led the Lumberjacks players with a +4 rating in the game, while Berzolla and Pitlick added three shots a piece.

To see these five Lumberjacks players back in the crimson and gold, come out to L.C. Walker Arena this Monday, January 18th, at 12:15 p.m. for Muskegon's "WATCH US GO" game. The Muskegon Lumberjacks (13-12-3) will take on the United States National Development U17 Program (12-15-2) for their final home game this month.
