Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release

MUSKEGON, MI- The Muskegon Lumberjacks have acquired defenseman Daniel Hilsendager from the Tri-City Storm in exchange for an 8th-round, Phase-II pick in the 2020 USHL draft.

Hilsendager, a 2000-birthyear, checks in at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. A native of Lloydminster, SK, Hilsendager was drafted by Tri-City in the 4th round of the 2017 Phase-II draft, but has not seen USHL regular-season action yet. Hilsendager has played one preseason game thus far for the Storm, registering a +1 rating.

The left-handed defenseman has played the last two seasons for the Lloydminster Bobcats of the AJHL, tallying point totals of 21 and 30, as well as penalty minute totals of 91 and 121.

Hilsendager is committed to play NCAA hockey at Western Michigan University, and general manager Ryan Bennett is excited about the addition.

"[Hilsendager] is a two-way, skilled d-man that skates very well," said Bennett. "He has good size and likes to be a physical presence on the blue line."

Hilsendager and the Jacks take the ice for their final preseason game this Saturday at LC Walker Arena. Come see the 2018-19 Lumberjacks free of charge for the 7:15pm puck drop against Team USA. Doors open at 6:15pm and seating will be first-come, first-serve.
