Luc Snuggerud Named USHL's "Co-Defenseman of the Week"

MUSKEGON, Michigan (November 11th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that affiliate Defenseman Luc Snuggerud has been tabbed as the USHL'S "CCM Co-Defenseman of the Week" sharing the honors with Tucker Poolman of the Omaha Lancers.

Snuggerud, the Eden Prairie, Minnesota native, recorded one goal and two assists to go along with a plus-three rating during the three home games played last week against Cedar Rapids (Wednesday) and Dubuque (Friday and Saturday).

"It's an honor to be named 'Co-Defenseman of the Week' in such a prestigious league like the USHL," said Snuggerud. "I've got to give credit to my teammates (in Muskegon) for being so great and giving me ample opportunities to help contribute."

The goal he tallied on Wednesday in the 6-5 victory over Cedar Rapids was his first career USHL goal and also notched his first career USHL point during the same game with an assist on the Lumberjacks' second goal of the game from Adam Larkin on the power play during the second period .

Snuggerud was drafted by the Lumberjacks in the 16th round (227th overall) during the 2012 USHL Entry Draft. He is committed to play collegiately for the University of Nebraska-Omaha out of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) following his junior career.

So far this season, two Lumberjacks have been chosen by the league for their weekly honors in Snuggerud and Matt Iacopelli ("Co-Forward of the Week on October 21st).

The Lumberjacks will play a home-and-home weekend series against the Youngstown Phantoms this weekend beginning on Friday in Youngstown at 7:05 pm and concluding Saturday in Muskegon at 7:15 pm.

Saturday's game features Shoe-Lover Night presented by Designer Shoe Warehouse where each fan in attendance will receive a special gift from Designer Shoe Warehouse, and there will also be fun-filled activities for the women in attendance including those presented by Glamazon Artistic Hair Styles.

Additionally, our Subway Saturday promotion returns where if the Lumberjacks beat the Phantoms, fans can redeem their ticket stubs at any participating West Michigan Subway location for a buy one six-inch sub, get another six-inch sub of equal or lesser value for free.

Individual game tickets are on sale for the low price of $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 3-12 if they are purchased before the day of the game. Tickets can be purchased at the Lumberjacks' Box Office or by calling (231) 724-5225.
