Indiana Ice News Release
MILITARY HOMAGE: The Indiana Ice paid their respects to the American military in grand fashion with Saturday's 4-1 thrashing of the Chicago Steel in front of over 4,700 fans at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Indy's dormant home power play unit erupted for three of the four goals with Aidan Muir (G, A) and Scott Conway (G, A) leading the charge. Austin Kosack also lit the lamp while team captain Tyler Pham logged the game-winning goal. Jason Pawloski allowed only one goal on 27 shots on net. With the win, Indy improved to 5-1-2 in their last eight games.
FIRST ROUND FORWARDS: Indy's heavy first-round presence in the 2013 USHL Draft is starting to pay off as the combination of Scott Conway, Aidan Muir and Brian Pinho have combined for 14 points (9G, 5A) in the past five games. Conway also has ten points (6G, 4A) in his last seven games, while Muir and Pinho are riding four and three-game point streaks respectively.
FINDING THE GROOVE: Goaltender Jason Pawloski has started to find his rhythm as the first-year netminder has compiled a 4-1-1 record in his last six starts in net. Through the six-game stretch, the Omaha, NE native has logged a .918 save percentage and a 1.98 GAA while holding opponents to a single goal in three of the contests.
FIVE TIME: Defenseman Joshua Jacobs and equipment manager Darrin Flinchem return to Indianapolis with a little extra jewelry this week after helping Team USA claim their fifth gold medal at the 2013 World Jr. A Challenge in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Team USA dominated play in the tournament, outscoring opponents 23-10 in four games.
