LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (March 13th, 2015)-- -- Louisville City FC, the new professional soccer team that will kick off its inaugural season campaign on March 28th at Louisville Slugger Field, announced today that former Carolina Railhawks goalkeeper, Scott Goodwin, has agreed to terms with the club.

"We had our eye on Scott for a while," head coach James O'Connor said. "We had to be patient, but we wanted a keeper who matched every piece of criteria that we were looking for. We found that with Scott."

Goodwin made eight apperances for the Railhawks last season and made his debut in a US Open Cup match versus Chivas USA. It was a match that came down to penalties and the first year pro helped his team to a victory by only allowing Chivas two successful PK's.

Before starting a professional career, the Raleigh, North Carolina product played for his hometown college and NCAA powerhouse, UNC. While with the Tar Heels, Goodwin was a part of four straight ACC Regular Season Championships. As a junior, the 6-foot keeper helped his team win a ACC Tournament Championship and a NCAA Tournament Championship.

Fans have already had the opportunity to see Goodwin. He has posted two cleans sheets in as many games. In his first match with the club, Goodwin made a number of key saves, including one that required him to fully extend out to the top corner to keep the clean sheet.

Goodwin will likely be between the pipes again on Tuesday when Louisville City FC takes on Lindsey-Wilson at Assumption Green for a 7:45 kickoff.
