Los Angeles Aftershock News Release
Los Angeles, CA. Burrel Lee, GM/Coach of the ABA Los Angeles Stars professional basketball team announced that Lowell Moore and William "Mickey" Stevenson have assumed ownership and management of the team and "are on track to make the Los Angeles Stars one of the premiere teams in the ABA." Also joining the Stars is Arah Sims as Senior VP of Marketing and Les Bean, Senior VP of Basketball Operations. Existing staff member John Gates has been made Director of Merchandising.
Coach Lee stated, "Having a great new ownership group and management team is a Christmas wish come true." Coach Lee will continue his role as Head Coach. He added, "This will give me the chance to concentrate my energy on coaching the team. Only one or two games in the loss column separate the teams. It's one game at a time, hopefully the Utah Snowbears will get caught in a blizzard so we can all catch up to them and make it an exciting stretch towards the end of the season."
In addition to Asst Coaches Wendell Robinson and Spark's Star Delisha Milton-Jones, the team also added Charles Perry as an Assistant Coach. The team will soon announce a new General Manager. As new team owner Lowell Moore added, "We want Burrel to concentrate on coaching the team. He has done an outstanding job managing and coaching the team through all of the challenges off the court - and they have been considerable. We should be able to help him greatly and position Los Angeles where it should be - Number One."
