GALAXY FACE TWO WESTERN CONFERENCE FOES IN BUSY WEEK: After a disappointing 4-0 loss to the New England Revolution on May 6, the Los Angeles Galaxy are aiming to get back on a winning streak with two key games this week against Western Conference opponents. The Galaxy face FC Dallas on Wednesday, May 10 at 5:30 p.m. PT at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX. The game will be broadcast live on CA$H 1700 AM (English) and KMXE 830 AM (Spanish). L.A. will then return home on Thursday and ready for a Saturday, May 13 match-up at The Home Depot Center against Real Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. PT, presented by KRAFT. The game will be broadcast live on FSN West and CA$H 1700 AM (English) and KMXE 830 AM (Spanish). The Galaxy enters the week with a 2-3-1 record and sit tied for third place in the Western Conference with seven points. FC Dallas is 3-1-2 and in second place with 11 points, while Real Salt Lake is 0-5-1 and in last place in the Western Conference with one point.

LALAS INDUCTED INTO HALL OF FAME: Galaxy President & General Manager Alexi Lalas was named as the latest inductee into the National Soccer Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 6 at Gillette Stadium. Along with U.S. Women's National Team star Carla Overbeck, Lalas will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this fall.

JUST LIKE 1997 FOR SAMPSON AND LALAS: Galaxy President & General Manager Alexi Lalas and Galaxy head coach Steve Sampson will take part in the El Reto Final Nissan on May 21 at 6:00 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center. El Reto Final Nissan is a reality television series currently airing on Fox Sports En Espanol exploring the history of the Mexico-United States soccer rivalry. On May 21, Sampson will lead a specially selected team of U.S. players like Lalas, Jeff Agoos, Tab Ramos, Eric Wynalda, Tomas Dooley and John Harkes against Bora Milutinovic's Mexican team featuring legends likes Carlos Hermosillo, Roberto Zague, Joaquin Del Olmo, Alberto Garcia Aspe, Luis Garcia and Luis Hernandez.

GALAXY RESERVES TIE 2-2: The Los Angeles Galaxy reserves played to a 2-2 tie May 6 against the New England Revolution, with Joseph Ngwenya and guest player Ahmed Khalil scoring in the first half to get L.A. off to a 2-0 start. The Revolution responded with a Geoff Walker goal in the 61st minute, and then tied the game in the 89th minute on an Anders Kelto goal nine minutes after Galaxy midfielder Josh Gardner was ejected. The Galaxy reserves now hold a 1-2-1 record in 2006.

LAST GAME FOR WORLD CUP BOUND STARS: Galaxy forward Landon Donovan and defender Chris Albright will play with the club Wednesday night against FC Dallas. However, the pair will not return to Los Angeles with the team following the game, instead they will travel to Cary, NC to meet up with the United States World Cup team, where they will train in preparation for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. The United States opens play in the World Cup on June 12, and the tournament runs until the July 9 final, meaning Donovan and Albright could miss at least 11 Galaxy games if the U.S. advances to the final game. Galaxy forward Cornell Glen will also miss time away from the club, as he will be participating in the World Cup with Trinidad & Tobago. Glen and T&T begin World Cup play June 10 against Sweden.

THIAGO MAKES HIS DEBUT: Thiago De Souza, a Brazilian forward signed by the Galaxy on April 6, 2006, made his Galaxy debut May 6 against the Revolution, entering as a substitute in the 20th minute. De Souza, who previously played for Germany's Borussia Dortmund, joined the Galaxy in New England for just one practice before making his first-ever Galaxy appearance.

RETURN OF THE MARSHALL: Galaxy defender Tyrone Marshall returned to the L.A. starting lineup on May 6, playing the first 45 minutes of the 4-0 loss. Marshall had missed the Galaxy's last two games due to a strained left MCL sprain suffered in the April 15 match against Chivas USA.

NGWENYA GETS IN: Galaxy forward Joseph Ngwenya made his first appearance of the 2006 season on May 6, entering the game as a substitute at halftime. Ngwenya has made 39 career MLS appearances.

FEELING DOWN: The Galaxy's 4-0 loss May 6 to the Revolution was the second worst loss in club history. The Galaxy fell 5-0 to the MetrosStars on June 15, 2002.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Galaxy forward Landon Donovan is tied atop MLS for the lead in assists with four...Donovan leads MLS with 29 corner kicks.

GALAXY VS. FC DALLAS: The Galaxy won the 2005 MLS Cup Championship at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX...The Galaxy and FC Dallas split the season series 2-2-0 in 2005, with the home team winning each game...The Galaxy own a 19-12-7 record in the series against Dallas...L.A. has outscored Dallas 68-46 in the series, with 18 goals coming in the games final 15 minutes.

Saturday, May 20 is another exciting night at The Home Depot Center as the Galaxy host the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Youth Jersey Night. May 20 is also a Galaxy Family Pack Night and a featured game of the Galaxy Stars Program.

- Youth Jersey Night: Fans who purchase four or more tickets at the gate price will receive two Galaxy youth jerseys, and fans who buy a group of 15 or more tickets will receive one Galaxy jersey for every youth in the group. Jerseys are limited to the first 5,000 eligible tickets purchased through the Galaxy front office.

- Galaxy Stars Program: Pre-registered members of the Galaxy Stars program can pick up a rally scarf at the Galaxy Stars booth.

- Family Pack Night: The Galaxy vs. Rapids game is also a Family Pack Night, where a family of four can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for a special low price of $64. Galaxy Family Packs are on sale until Wednesday, May, 17.

2006 L.A. GALAXY TOURNAMENTS AND EVENTS: The L.A. Galaxy are pleased to announce that the Galaxy Clasico II adult soccer tournament and Copa LA V youth soccer tournament will both be returning to the San Bernardino Soccer Complex in 2006.

The second annual Galaxy Clasico II will take place on May 20th and 21st, and will see competitive teams in the Men's and Women's Open Divisions, as well as friendly competition in the Men's Over 30, Over 40, and Over 50 divisions, plus the Women's Over 30 division. The Men's Open Division will play for a cash prize and the chance to be seen Galaxy scouts will be in attendance.

The fifth anniversary of the Copa L.A. V tournament will again take place over Memorial Day weekend from May 27th - 29th in San Bernardino. Besides playing in a first class tournament at a great facility, participants will also have fun enjoying the sponsor booths and gifts, appearances by Galaxy players, and many other elements sure to create the memory of a lifetime for all those in attendance. More than 100 teams are expected, so sign up early to reserve your spot.

Galaxy Deportivo, hosted by Los Angeles area personality Elmer Polanco, can be seen at the same time each and every Saturday on Channel 22.
