
Los Angeles' Brian Chase Named D-League.com Performer Of The Week

NEW YORK - Brian Chase of the Los Angeles D-Fenders was today named D-League.com Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Feb. 25. Chase averaged 29.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in three games and joins teammate Sean Banks among the ranks of D-Fenders who have earned Performer of the Week honors this season.
A 5-10 guard from Virginia Tech, Chase scored a season-high 39 points, including seven three-pointers, in Sunday's win over the D-Fenders Western Division rival Idaho Stampede, breaking his previous season-best which he set on Tuesday when he scored 32 points in a win over the Anaheim Arsenal.
Currently in his second D-League season with Los Angeles, Chase is averaging 16.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Last season, Chase appeared in the D-League All-Star game and earned All-D-League Honorable Mention honors.
Other top performers in the D-League last week included Dakota's Blake Ahearn who averaged 29.0 points, 4.3 assists and shot 10-of-23 from behind the three point line; Rod Benson, who averaged 19.6 points and 17.7 rebounds in three games for Dakota, including a 24-rebound performance on Sunday; Austin's Justin Bowen, who averaged 28.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games; Rio Grande Valley's Desmon Farmer who averaged 35.0 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds in two games; David Noel, who averaged 30.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games on assignment from the Milwaukee Bucks; and Sioux Falls' Kasib Powell who averaged 25.5 points and 6.3 rebounds in for games.
