After Belisle walked Stephen Smitherman, Dernell Stenson hit a soft single to center field, scoring Senjem with the game's first run. Alejandro Diaz followed with an RBI single to left field; a throwing error on the play by cutoff man Pete Orr allowed a second run to score giving the Lookouts at 3-0 lead.
