Long Island's Trajan Langdon Named 2018-19 NBA G League Basketball Executive of the Year

NEW YORK - Long Island Nets General Manager Trajan Langdon has been named the 2018-19 NBA G League Basketball Executive of the Year, as selected by his fellow NBA G League basketball executives.
In his third season as general manager of the Brooklyn Nets' NBA G League affiliate, Langdon oversaw a team that tied for the NBA G League's best record (34-16), secured the No. 1 playoff seed in the Eastern Conference and earned the franchise's first postseason berth.
Before the season, Langdon hired former Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Will Weaver as Long Island's head coach. Under Weaver, the Nets went 13-1 in their final 14 games, including a 10-game winning streak that was the longest in the NBA G League this season and the longest in franchise history.
Langdon's player acquisitions included guards Mitchell Creek (15.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg), Tahjere McCall (11.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg) and Jordan McLaughlin (15.0 ppg, 4.8 apg). Creek and McCall earned GATORADE Call-Ups when they signed 10-day contracts with Brooklyn on Jan. 25 and Feb. 26, respectively.
Under Langdon's leadership, Long Island helped develop Brooklyn rookies Rodions Kurucs, Dzanan Musa and Theo Pinson and NBA veteran Alan Williams. A two-way player, Williams ranked 14th in the NBA G League in scoring (19.8 ppg) and second in rebounding (12.9 rpg) this season. Several Brooklyn players also went to Long Island for rehab and practice assignments, including Allen Crabbe, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jared Dudley, Treveon Graham, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Caris LeVert.
Langdon, who is also in his third season as Assistant General Manager for the NBA's Nets, played three NBA seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 1999-2002. Before joining the Nets' organization, he spent six months serving as the Cavaliers' Director of Player Administration and Basketball Operations.
Langdon will be presented with the award tonight before Long Island hosts Raptors 905 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals at NYCB LIVE's Nassau Coliseum (7 p.m. ET, Facebook Live).
Oklahoma City Thunder Director of Pro Evaluation Jesse Gould, who is responsible for roster construction and management for the Blue, and Lakeland Magic General Manager Anthony Parker tied for second in voting for the 2018-19 NBA G League Basketball Executive of the Year Award. Rio Grande Valley Vipers General Manager Jimmy Paulis finished fourth.
