Locos Cheer Team To Hold Auditions To Determine 2011 Roster

LAS VEGAS, NV - Monday, February 14, 2010 - The Las Vegas Locomotives cheer team, the LocoMotion, will host two audition workshops and open auditions in the upcoming months.
The workshops will take place at Fern Adair Conservatory of the Arts on February 26 from 1pm to 4pm and March 19 from 1pm to 4pm. During the workshops, aspiring dancers and cheerleaders will learn how to prepare for an audition and a career in dance and cheerleading.
"Last year was an amazing inaugural year for the LocoMotion," said Locos Director of Cheerleading Kim Diaz. "We've had a lot of interest since the end of the season from dancers that want to be a part of the team and the workshops are the first chance for everyone to get involved and learn from some top-notch professionals throughout the industry."
The audition workshops are designed to help the dancers learn the necessary choreography for the upcoming auditions, as well give them insight into the world of professional dance from the talented group of workshop speakers. The audition workshops will feature sessions from Audrey Boistol and Kelley Young. Audrey is a former dancer at Jubilee and a member of the Miami Heat's dance team. Kelley danced professional for teams in the NBA and NFL for six years and is now a professional makeup artist in the industry with over seven years of experience at M.A.C. cosmetics and Disney. Admission to the workshops costs $20 for both classes or $15 per workshop.
The LocoMotion will hold the prelims for the 2011 roster auditions at Fern Adair Conservatory of the Arts on March 26 from 12pm to 5pm. Day-of registration starts at 11am. The auditions will be held at no cost for participants.
The top dancers from the preliminary round will qualify for the finals on April 9, which will be held at Blue Martini in Town Square from 12pm - 2pm.
