Local Man to Join Silverbacks Coaching Staff

(TROY,OH)- The Miami Valley Silverbacks have hired one of Miami County's own. Andy Drabik, Tipp City resident, will join the Silverbacks coaching staff and oversee the Offensive/Defensive Line. Drabik was chosen from a pool of over 60 applicants, each with college and/or professional coaching experience.
Drabik is no stranger to football. He played at Wilmington College as an offensive tackle, and with five years of coaching experience under his belt, he will be an asset to the team and relieve some of the burden on Silverbacks Defensive Coordinator, Carl Allen.
"Andy will be a great addition to our coaching staff," commented Head Coach Matt King. "Although his coaching experience is in the high school ranks, we (coaching staff) felt he was deserving of this opportunity. Breaking into the professional ranks as a coach, is extremely difficult. We think Andy will really grab this chance and excel. We're looking to offload some of the O-line/D-line responsibilities to allow Coach Allen to concentrate on sharpening the team's defensive schemes and Coach Drabik is one piece of that puzzle."
Drabik, who currently works as supervisor for a local medic company, is looking forward to the opportunity and the challenge of coaching at the professional level.
"I'm excited and a little nervous, "explained Drabik. "This is a different game than outdoor football. It's a much faster game and played at a higher level, so I'll have to spend some time studying up on the differences. I'm very happy to have this opportunity to coach with this staff at this level of play."
Drabik's coaching debut will be Friday, March 30 at Hobart Arena.
