New York Lizards News Release

Garden City, NY - The New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse announced today a trade that will bring Charlotte Hounds Midfielder, Jake Tripucka, to New York for the Lizards first round pick in the 2016 Supplemental Draft.

Originally selected 42nd overall by the Hamilton Nationals in the 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft, the Hounds acquired the rights to Tripucka through a trade in January of that same year.

While in college, at Duke University, Tripucka tallied 47 goals, 48 assists and 74 groundballs through four seasons, contributing to two National Championship titles for his team.

He went on to play three seasons with the Hounds, tallying impressive numbers. In 2015, Tripucka played in 13 games, netting 11 goals, five assists and 8 groundballs.

"We are very excited to add a player like Jake to our talented midfield," said Lizards Head Coach, Joe Spallina. "He is a big two-way midfielder that adds a great dimension to our team. Welcome to New York, Jake!"
