Elmira Jackals News Release
Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that right wing Frank Littlejohn returned to the Jackals Thursday following his call-up by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.
Littlejohn appeared for the Rampage in Wednesday's game in Rochester against the Amerks. He recorded one shot on goal, 2 penalty minutes and had an Even rating as San Antonio blanked Rochester 2-0. The Jackals leading goal scorer this season returns to First Arena for Elmira's team practice Thursday after playing in his 15th career AHL game.
"We are really happy that Frank had the opportunity to play at the next level and help his team win Wednesday night," said Jackals General Manager Robbie S. Nichols. "We hope he and other Jackals players will have other opportunities for promotion this season, but we are definitely happy to have Frank back in the lineup for our weekend series with Rockford."
Littlejohn has 42 points (28 goals, 14 assists) in 50 games for Elmira this season. He currently leads the team with 28 goals, 11 power play goals, 7 short-handed goals and 4 game-winning goals. Littlejohn's 7 short-handed goals currently lead the United Hockey League in that category. He is the second Jackals player this season to be called up to the American Hockey League; forward Mike Sgroi, who was called up on November 25th, is still on loan to the Binghamton Senators.
The Jackals will begin a 5-game home stand on Friday, February 23rd as they host the Rockford IceHogs for GLN Tax & Payroll Rally Towel Giveaway Night, the first of a three-game series at First Arena; game time is scheduled for 7:35 pm.
