Columbus Lions News Release

Columbus, GA (February 25, 2009) - Continuing their commitment to helping students excel in the classroom, the Columbus Lions of the American Indoor Football Association will be lending a hand during testing week for two local elementary schools on Friday February 27th.

This week marked the last week of testing for Dexter and Wilson Elementary Schools of Ft. Benning, GA. Terra Nova testing provides basis reports to parents and students to inform teachers of the needs of their students. This testing also allows the opportunity to get feedback on the quality of the educational programs that are being conducted in the Ft. Benning school district.

As progress for all the students hard work, Columbus Lions players will be visiting both schools on Friday to help encourage them after a long week of testing and talk about the value of hard work along with the amount of effort it takes to be successful.

Later on that evening, students along with their families will be visiting the Columbus Lions for a special practice to be held at Doughboy Stadium located on Ft. Benning post from 3:30-5:30. Students will get first hand knowledge on the amount of hard work it takes to become a Lions football player.

Lastly, to show how proud the Lions are of Dexter and Wilson Elementary, all students will receive a Buy One, Get One Free Voucher in their weekly newsletter for the Lions Home Opener on Sunday March 22nd vs. the Carolina Speed.
