Columbus Lions News Release
Columbus, GA (Dec. 8, 2007) - On Saturday, the Columbus Lions help spread the Christmas cheer by celebrating in a local parade. Helping with the celebration was Head Coach Jason Gibson, Defensive Coordinator Norbert Sullivan and starting quarterback Joey Conrad. Beamer, the Lions mascot, made a special appearance to the parade.
The Lions took the Christmas joy to the city of Buena Vista, GA, where the celebration went to the streets in the local city parade. Beamer greeted those watching the parade and the children were showered with handfuls of candy. Some were even greeted by Quarterback Joey Conrad who was on hand to throw out some footballs from last season's World Indoor Bowl Championship game.
Buena Vista lies 45 minutes south of Columbus, but fans continually make the trip out to the Lions home games. "Buena Vista has been one of our major fan bases over the last year, anytime we can give back to that community we are more than eager to do so", says Coach Gibson.
