COLUMBUS, GA, January 23 -- They'll have a road game under their belts when they take the Columbus Civic Center turf for the first time, but the Columbus Lions now know that their first-ever home game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 against the Osceola Ghostriders.
The Lions will host seven WIFL regular-season home games, five on Saturdays and two on Fridays. Promotional themes are being set for each home game beginning with Knology Thunder Sticks Night on March 10, Valley Rescue Mission Faith Night on May 4, Fraternal Order of Police Night on May 12 and Bill Heard Cadillac-Saab Night on June 8. Many others, including Nextel Night and Military Appreciation Night are in the works, with details to be announced in coming weeks.
Season ticket and individual game prices have been established. Lower Level seats for all seven games are $120 and Upper Level seats are $90. They may be purchased as dated tickets for specific seats, or as undated "flex" vouchers redeemable at the Civic Center box office for any regular-season game, best seat available at the time of redemption.
Single game tickets are $20 for Lower Level, $15 for Upper Level (adults). Military personnel with ID will receive $3 off ($17 Lower Level, $12 Upper Level). Youngsters age 3 through 18 and students with college ID receive the best seat available for $10. Children under three years old are admitted free provided they sit in a parent's lap.
Individual game tickets will go on sale on a date to be announced soon. The Lions also sell "flex" ticket plans called the "First-and-Ten Club" and field-level corporate boxes which include pre-game buffet with the team, waitress service and many other perks. They are the first premier seating of this type sold by any sports team playing at the Civic Center. Details are available by calling any of the above staff or visiting www.columbuslions.net.
