St. Louis Aces News Release

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Lindsay Davenport will be traveling back to St. Louis to join her teammates Thursday for the last home match of the regular season. By playing in her 11th World TeamTennis match of the season on Thursday, Davenport will be eligible for consideration to be named the 2010 World TeamTennis Female Most Valuable Player. Davenport is currently in first place in the WTT standings for Women's Singles with a winning percentage of 66.7%. She is also in first place in the Mixed Doubles standings with a record of 36-22 for the season.

"I am very excited to be coming back to St. Louis for the final regular season match. I can't wait to see my teammates," said Lindsay Davenport.

"We are thrilled to have Lindsay back in St. Louis on Thursday," said Aces President Dani Apted. "What an amazing display of character. She is showing the epitome of World TeamTennis team spirit by joining the Aces for our last home match of the regular season. We are hoping that by having Lindsay back on our team, we will have a better chance of clinching a spot in the WTT Conference Championships."

With four teams within a match of first place in the Western Conference, the Aces are still in the hunt for a WTT playoff berth. Davenport hopes to help the Aces' chances at making the playoffs. The Western Conference Championship will be held Friday, July 23 at the home venue of the Conference's first place team.

Mary Buschmann, executive director of the Missouri Valley USTA, will present Davenport and the Aces team with the Show-Me Cup before the start of their final home match on Thursday, July 22nd at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park.

The Show-Me Cup standings are based on results of matches played between Missouri World TeamTennis franchises. Standings are based on games won versus opponents, not team wins. This year, the Aces have won 84 games compared to Springfield's 79 and Kansas City's 74.

"I am thrilled that the Aces won the Show Me Cup and I am looking forward to the presentation on Thursday evening," said Aces owner Dan Apted.

The Aces will conclude their regular season at home on Thursday, July 22ndagainst the New York Buzz. Tickets are still available for the match and can be purchased online at MetroTix.com or by phone at 314.534.1111.
