Lincoln Thunder No Match for the Alley Cats

December 27, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Indiana AlleyCats News Release

Anderson, IN-Expectations were high for this game, so the home crowd was probably left a little disappointed by the match up between these two undefeated teams. No one expected a blow out but that's exactly what happened. And yet again, the historic Wigwam played host to another great basketball victory. The Alley Cats rolled over the Thunder with a 153-100 win to increase their record to 15-0.

By the end of the first quarter and from all perspectives, it appeared that the Alley Cats had finally met their match. I would imagine the Thunder probably poked their chests out a little further as well. Who wouldn't with the prospect of defeating the #1 team in the ABA? But the first quarter was the only quarter that Lincoln could feel strongly about. The Alley Cats pulled away to outscore the Thunder 72-48 to end the first half.

The second half was no different, except for the fact that the Alley Cats probably enjoyed it much more. Indiana's Lincoln Glass and Shaun Fountain put up three pointers like they were free throws. Yet and still, no one can deny the show that Antiony Hardin put on as he drained not one, not two, but three 3 pointers in a row. Of course the Alley Cats' displayed their athleticism as always with dunks and assists to mirror a NBA All-Star Game. But, what else do you expect when you are outscoring your opponent 81-52 at the end of a game?

Indiana was led by Shaun Fountain with 25 points followed by Lincoln Glass with 23 points, 13 assists and 6 steals. Aaron Hogg and Antiony Hardin contributed 16 points apiece and Michael Elliott chipped in 14. Lincoln was led by Casebier Parrish with 25 points, followed by Kurt Spurgeon with 21 points and David Finklea with 14.

The Alley Cats go on the road as they face the Thunder again on Thursday December 29, 2005. Indiana's next home game is Tuesday, January 3, 2005 @ 7pm at the O.C. Lewis Gymnasium on the campus of Anderson University.
