
Lights FC Kick off Four-Game Homestand by Hosting San Diego

MATCH SUMMARY:
With five matches left in the USL Championship regular season, Lights FC started a four-game homestand by taking on Landon Donovan's San Diego Loyal SC, who entered the night with the second best record in USL Championship's Western Conference only behind San Antonio.
The visiting side started off hot, capitalizing on a miscue from Lights FC on a back pass. Kyle Vassell capitalized on it by opening the score just 16 seconds after the opening kickoff.
San Diego kept their foot in the gas, extending their lead to 2-0 in the fourth minute courtesy of Elijah Martin, which was the score at halftime.
Lights FC's leading scorer Danny Trejo found the back of the net in the 71st minute after a great build up from Christopher Jaime and Danny Crisostomo. But it wasn't enough, San Diego took three points home with a 2-1 win.
With this defeat, Lights FC is now 5 points away from the final USL Championship postseason spot in the Western Conference.
