
Liberty to Host Basketball Clinic With the Garden of Dreams Foundation

NEW YORK, NY - May 22, 2013 - The New York Liberty will host a basketball clinic for 75 children from Garden of Dreams Foundation partner WHEDco at the organization's gymnasium on 1220 Gerard Avenue in The Bronx on Wednesday, May 22 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
The entire Liberty roster and coaching staff will be on hand to teach the children the fundamentals of basketball and the importance of exercise and teamwork. The clinic will include shooting, passing, ball handling and defensive drills. The event is part of WNBA Cares Week, a community service initiative that runs from May 17-23 with teams and players across the league taking part in community outreach efforts.
The Garden of Dreams Foundation is nonprofit charitable organization that works with all areas of The Madison Square Garden Company, including the Knicks, the Rangers, the Liberty, MSG Entertainment, MSG Networks and Fuse, to make dreams come true for children facing obstacles.
